This blog documents the journey of our ESLP garden sign making — Enjoy!
About
In our Honors Biology class, we were assigned an ESLP (Ecology Service Learning Project) project. We are Mako Goldston, Andrea Pantoja, Gaby Arrioja, and Desirée Lara Neary, freshmen at Willow Glen High School. The ESLP project was aimed for students to work on garden-based projects while exploring outdoor environments, and to ultimately appreciate ecology. Out of a variety of choices, we chose to make garden signs for two gardens: the Compost garden and the Hummingbird Garden. The compost garden is located at the rear of the WGHS Gold Main Garden (WGHS Gold refers to the garden program at our school, Gardens & Outdoor Learning Domains), and the Hummingbird Garden is a newly created garden, planted by another ESLP group, near the Mickey Long Center. We will be creating hand-painted signs for those gardens.
